In this course, the following topics will be covered
The aim of this module is to provide the student with a comprehensive overview of the current methodologies used in well testing; including, multi-rate and single testing, single and multi-well testing, infinite and finite-acting reservoir behavior, in homogeneous and heterogeneous reservoirs,

Students will learn variety of topics including:
• Steady-state and pseudo-steady-state flow behavior
• Derivation of the diffusivity equation,
• Solution of the diffusivity equation
• Analysis of pressure drawdown and buildup tests
• Wellbore storage and skin effects
• Behavior of vertically fractured wells
• Behavior of dual porosity reservoir systems
• Analysis of production performance
• Analysis of IPR and TPR
This course provides an integrated workflow for field development and
production life cycle, including secondary recovery evaluation, reservoir
screening for tertiary recovery and assessing various EOR schemes. We
discuss, in detail, the concept of miscible gas flooding (CO2-EOR), chemical
EOR, and thermal recovery. We cover the fundamentals of EOR-related flow
mechanisms such as, trapping mechanisms, sweep and displacement
efficiency, mobility ratio, interfacial tension, capillary number, miscible gas
thermodynamics (vaporization, condensation, swelling), cross-phase
diffusion, phase behavior of microemulsions, non- Newtonian flow behavior
of polymers, inaccessible pore-volume, steam flood, and others. We also
discuss the limitations of various EOR methods such as CO2 capture,
compression, and transportation, optimum switching window, evaluation
methods including pilot design, tracers, economic assessment, and decision analysis. Study of field cases and reservoir simulations will also be addressed.
The purpose of this course is to cover the essential aspect of petroleum production engineering. The course will include theoretical explanations of production engineering fundamentals, practical solutions to production problems and utilizing industry standard software to design production systems and optimize production.

The midterm and final exam will be based on the practical that we have in the class. 75% of the questions will come out from practical that we will have inside the the class, only 25% will be based on your memorization. The exam will be fully in English.

سيعتمد الامتحان میدتیرم والنهائي على ما هو عملي في الفصل. 75٪ من الأسئلة ستخرج من الناحية العملية التي ستكون لدينا داخل الفصل ، و 25٪ فقط ستعتمد على درقیاتک. سيكون الاختبار باللغة الإنجليزية بالكامل.
This course is specifically designed to help students develop their reading and writing skills. It tries to introduce students to reading skills such as previewing, scanning, skimming....etc. through engaging topics. In addition to that, the students are encouraged to write paragraphs related to the them of each unit and the feedback is provided through oral or written mode. The students are also taught vocabulary such as collocations, compound nouns and idioms to enrich their writing and speaking.
This course is designed to meet the students needs and wants to improve their communication skills (listening and Speaking). This is hopefully achieved through various strategies and techniques offered throughout the course. The course also helps students be familiar with fixed expressions and idiomatic expressions that are essential social context. Miscellaneous tasks and activities will be employed such as role plays, discussions, presentation just to name a few with the purpose of developing students communicative competence.
The purpose of the course is to enable the students master the subjects of the course in a good way, so they are going to be presented with enough material taken directly from different sources. To achieve this aim the class is proposed to be an active one, chances will be given to the students to participate and questions will be exchanged between teacher and students. This will be helpful to have a good interaction between teacher and students and a good class environment as well.
Mainly, the teacher is responsible for presenting and explaining the items of the lesson. The elements of the lecture will be presented through the use of certain aids available like: white board, data show, and power point presentations. While presenting the lesson, students are encouraged to participate in the lesson (by asking and answering, exchanging ideas and providing examples). The teacher is a facilitator in which (s)he is responsible to guide and advice students and gives them feedback during their presentation and participation.
